Bed Sizes Explained — Twin, Full, Queen, King
A bed takes up more floor space than any other piece of furniture in a room, so getting the size wrong can leave no room for anything else. Here are the standard dimensions (width × length, in mm) used in Korea, which map closely to Twin/Full/Queen/King sizing elsewhere.
| Size | Width × Length | Recommended room size |
|---|---|---|
| Twin (S) | 1000×2000mm | Studio, 3 pyeong or less (~10m²) |
| Full / Super Single (SS) | 1100×2000mm | Studio, 4–5 pyeong (~13–16m²) |
| Queen (Q) | 1500×2000mm | 6+ pyeong (~20m²), fits two people |
| King (K) | 1600×2000mm | 8+ pyeong (~26m²), larger rooms |
Full/Super Single is the safe default for a studio
For a single-person household, Full/Super Single is the most commonly chosen size. It sleeps more comfortably than a Twin without eating up as much floor space as a Queen, leaving room for a desk or storage.
Before you pick a size
- Leave at least 50–60cm along the side of the bed so you can make it or vacuum comfortably.
- Factor in mattress thickness (typically 20–25cm) — the actual bed height ends up higher than expected.
- Check that the bed's position doesn't block the door's swing.
These dimensions are registered as presets in the Room Furniture Layout Simulator, so you can try a placement instantly without measuring anything yourself. Also read: Passage Width Guide
